Partner Spotlight: 4CommunityCare

Our connections with other non-profits and charities have been essential in keeping our food distribution running and providing food security for our residents every month. As an indispensable supporter to our San Diego residents, our long-time partners at 4CommunityCare have dedicated themselves to leaving a positive and sustainable mark in their communities. 4CommunityCare, formerly known as Friends & Family Community Connection or FFCC, has provided resources to our northern San Diego PSCDC properties for more than ten years!

4CommunityCare (4CC) is a committed group of volunteers providing food and assistance to local families and seniors in the neighborhoods of Rancho Bernardo, 4S Ranch, Del Sur, Carmel Valley, and other nearby areas. They partner with local non-profits and churches to build strong community relationships that shape the way they serve.

As a San Diego Food Bank authorized agency, 4CC is one of the only charitable groups in North County that delivers food to where people live. With the pandemic leading to a surging increase in the need for food assistance and supplies in many communities, 4CC has remarkably and consistently done its part to deliver food to at least 3,300 people each month from March 2020 to March 2021. Along with the food, they have supported their neighbors with other essential resources, from household supplies, gift cards, clothing, and school supplies. They have also provided and moved furniture, helped with car repairs, and even offered assistance with living expenses after an initial screening!

4CommunityCare is looking for space to continue and expand its services. 4CC is currently searching for another location to store nonperishable food. They are also looking for a possible room, 15x15 square feet or larger, to convert into cold storage and a ground-level room within their service region with a drive-up door leading outside to parking.

We are incredibly grateful for what 4CommunityCare has done for San Diego's North County communities. They have always been an integral part of our food distribution services and, without them, we would not be able to provide continuous food security to our residents. Please consider volunteering or donating nonperishable food to them and help support their mission.
