Egg Hunting and Spring Food Distributions at Orange County's Chatham Village Apartments

Chatham Village Apartments had a very eventful start to April and spring with a special Easter-themed community event and five Park-in-Market food distributions in collaboration with Second Harvest Food Bank! We are also working with Martha Venegas, our Orange County's Director of Services, to reopen our regularly provided services.

One planned community event was the Easter egg hunt for the children. With support from the apartment's leasing office and help from community volunteers, 12 families and 50 kids enjoyed hunting for eggs in this year's egg hunt! Along with the egg hunt, families also joined a raffle with Easter baskets and gift cards as prizes. Volunteers of the event received candy bags with gift cards courtesy of the leasing office, and one volunteer donated cupcakes for everyone in attendance to enjoy. The event was a great start to bring the community together again!

April was also packed with Park-in-Market food distributions every Friday! A total of five collaborated food distributions with our friends at Second Harvest Food Bank took place. A further breakdown of our April distributions in Orange County is as follows:

April 2nd: 48 residents

April 9th: 45 residents

April 16th: 50 residents

April 20th: 60 residents

In addition to the weekly Friday food distribution, the Tustin Community Foundation also assisted us in providing our residents with 50 more food boxes on April 17th. We are grateful to both the Tustin Community Foundation and Second Harvest Food Bank for playing crucial roles in providing our residents with food security. Other impactful organizations such as Meals on Wheels Orange County and Tustin Family and Youth Center have also helped the Chatham VIllage community tremendously.

For May, Martha is organizing another community event to celebrate all the mothers during Mother's Day while also relaunching additional services! During this time, we are carefully following the correct procedures to ensure the health and safety of all our residents. We can't wait to bring our communities, like Chatham Village Apartments, together again!
