Chatham Village Apartments' Food Distributions Continues Strong Into 2021

With the start of the new year, residents at Chatham Village Apartments in the City of Tustin have continued to receive ample food supplies through our hosted food distributions. Every Friday, our Park in Market service focuses on providing our older residents and those with disabilities with enough food and meals to last them a week. With help from our friends at Meals on Wheels Orange County, we deliver meals to our at-risk residents to their front doors. The service has grown to serve an average of 50 residents since its start!

Martha Venegas, our PSCDC Director of Services for Orange County, also organizes monthly food distributions to ensure the entire community receives enough food supplies. Through the incredible generosity of our great friends at Second Harvest Food Bank, Tustin Family and Youth Center, and the City of Tustin, the whole community is treated to some extra food supplies to stock their pantries!

With January not yet over, Martha and her volunteers have already helped 220 households with food assistance! The breakdown of the food distributions so far is as followed:

Park in Market Distributions, in partnership with Meals on Wheels Orange County:

January 8th: 50 households assisted

January 15th: 45 households assisted

January 22nd: 60 households assisted

Community Food Distribution, in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank and Tustin Family and Youth Center:

January 19th: 65 households assisted

As always, everyone’s health is a priority in all of our food distributions, and we require residents to attend with masks while observing safe distancing. We will continue to provide a safe environment for Chatham Village Apartments and will look to provide our residents with more opportunities to stay healthy.

If you are interested in supporting a wonderful cause, our friends at Second Harvest Food Banks and Meals on Wheels Orange County require your support. They have been working past their maximum capability to continue providing hope and support to those in need of food. If you can, we ask that you support them through donations or volunteering. Learn how they are alleviating hunger in their communities by visiting Second Harvest Food Bank's website and Meals on Wheels Orange County's website.
